The Beast of the East
Killington is simply the largest ski resort in the eastern United States — seven interconnected peaks, more than 1,500 acres of terrain and a 3,050-foot vertical drop. It is known for opening among the earliest in the country (thanks to aggressive snowmaking) and closing among the latest, frequently spinning lifts into late May or even June.
The terrain & the scene
From wide cruisers to the fearsome Outer Limits bumps, Killington has terrain for everyone, plus a superpipe and parks. Off the snow, the Killington Access Road hosts the liveliest après-ski and nightlife in southern Vermont.
Pico next door
Just across the way, Pico Mountain is Killington’s quieter, family-friendly sibling — a real mountain with a real vertical but a fraction of the crowds and a more relaxed, local feel, often at lower prices.
Summer on the mountain
When the snow melts, Killington becomes a lift-served mountain-bike park with miles of downhill trails, plus hiking, an adventure center and summer concerts — and the Appalachian and Long Trails cross the shoulder of Killington Peak nearby.
