The unbeatable views
Jay Peak’s Hotel Jay has an outdoor pool and hot tub complex that steams magnificently at -10°C — worth the $220-$400 rate alone. Topnotch Stowe has three outdoor tubs facing Mount Mansfield. Woodstock Inn’s spa deck hot tub is more sedate but genuinely beautiful in a snowstorm. Twin Farms cottages come with private cedar hot tubs on the deck — the Meadow cottage’s is my favourite in the state.
The private in-room jetted tub crowd
If you want the tub inside the room, look at Rabbit Hill Inn’s newer suites, the Reluctant Panther in Manchester ($400-$650), and Grafton Inn’s premium rooms. These are typically 2-person jetted tubs, not Nordic-spa outdoor situations. Skip Stratton’s Long Trail House hot tubs — communal, always packed, and I have never once found the temperature above 96°F on a winter evening.

Do I need to book a tub time slot?
At larger resorts like Jay Peak and Killington Grand, yes during peak weeks. Private in-room tubs obviously never require booking.
